{"id":5151,"date":"2018-11-16T08:15:41","date_gmt":"2018-11-16T06:15:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/akki.ut.ee\/the-biggest-development-of-the-si-system-in-decades\/"},"modified":"2018-11-16T08:15:41","modified_gmt":"2018-11-16T06:15:41","slug":"the-biggest-development-of-the-si-system-in-decades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/akki.ut.ee\/en\/the-biggest-development-of-the-si-system-in-decades\/","title":{"rendered":"The biggest development of the SI system in decades!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, On Nov 16, 2018 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bipm.org\/en\/worldwide-metrology\/cgpm\/\">General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM)<\/a> unanimously decided to fundamentally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bipm.org\/en\/measurement-units\/rev-si\/\">remake the SI system of measurement units<\/a>. Perhaps the most important change is that the kilogram will not be defined via a physical artefact \u2013 the platinum-iridium cylinder \u2013 but in terms of the Planck constant.
