{"id":5136,"date":"2019-03-25T08:06:53","date_gmt":"2019-03-25T06:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/akki.ut.ee\/guests-from-mulheim-learning-uts-pka-measurement-method\/"},"modified":"2019-03-25T08:06:53","modified_gmt":"2019-03-25T06:06:53","slug":"guests-from-mulheim-learning-uts-pka-measurement-method","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/akki.ut.ee\/en\/guests-from-mulheim-learning-uts-pka-measurement-method\/","title":{"rendered":"Guests from M\u00fclheim learning UT&#8217;s pKa measurement method"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Starting from last week the <a href=\"https:\/\/analytical.chem.ut.ee\/\">Analytical chemistry group of University of Tartu<\/a> has the pleasure to host Dr Monika Lindner and Hendrik van Thienen from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kofo.mpg.de\/en\/research\/homogeneous-catalysis-\">group of professor Benjamin List<\/a> \u2013 a worldwide known guru in the field of strongly acidic catalysts working at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kofo.mpg.de\/\">Max-Planck-Institut f\u00fcr Kohlenforschung<\/a> (M\u00fclheim, Germany).<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of their stay is to learn our p<em>K<\/em><sub>a<\/sub> measurement method and set it up in M\u00fclheim. This is the logical continuation of our group\u2019s collaboration with the List group \u2013 the p<em>K<\/em><sub>a<\/sub> values of a number of their catalysts have been measured here at Tartu (see <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1038\/s41557-018-0065-0\"><em>Nature Chemistry<\/em> <strong>2018<\/strong>, <em>10<\/em>, 888-894<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1002\/anie.201609923\"><em>Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.<\/em> <strong>2017<\/strong>, <em>56<\/em>, 1411-1415<\/a>) \u2013 and we are glad that our p<em>K<\/em><sub>a<\/sub> measurement method thereby gains even wider acceptance than it has now.
