Validation is used for testing how well different methods fit for purpose and several international organizations have set different criteria for validation of chromatographic methods in their corresponding guidelines. University of Tartu has developed a software named VaLChrom that enables the user automate validation.

VaLChrom is capable of:
- Choosing a guideline for validation
- Guides the validation
- Guiding the choice of validations in different validation guidelines
- Performing necessary calculations of validation characteristics, based on the calculations giving feedback on the quality of the data
- Creates a validation report
